Mi
chiamo Chiara ho
38 anni, vivo a Vicenza
graziosa città situata nel nord est della
regione Veneto, ricca di monumenti del famoso
Andrea Palladio e di antiche Chiese, la più
conosciuta e frequentata dai turisti è quella
di Monte
Berico. Il mio sport preferito è
l'Aerobica che pratico da molti anni. Ascolto
volentieri la musica Country e Classica, ma non
disdegno la musica Italiana. Ho un grande
rispetto per tutti gli animali, mi piacciono
molto i gatti e la loro forte e sicura
personalità.
Il
"Punto Croce" è il mio interesse primario,
quando ricamo mi sembra di entrare in un mondo
irreale, mi rilasso tra i fili colorati e punto dopo
punto affiora l'immagine migliore di quello che lo
schema propone. Spesso non sembra un ricamo ma una
fotografia data dalla perfezione delle sfumature quasi
tridimensionali e dall'immensità di tutti i colori. Vista la
mia innata passione per il "Punto Croce", ho
pensato di creare un sito dedicandolo a tutte coloro
che amano ricamare e a coloro che credono
nell'amore e nella fedeltà, valori ora mai
inesistenti.
My
name is Chiara and I am
38 years old. I live in Vicenza, a nice Italian city situated in the
west of the Veneto region. It is famous for its
Palladio’s buildings and villas, and for its
ancient churches. The most renowned is
Monte Berico. My favorite sport is aerobics,
which I have been practicing for many years. I
usually listen to country music and classical
music, but I don’t disdain Italian music. I
really respect all animals, I love cats and
their strong personality.
"Cross-stitching"
is my major interest, when I cross stitch I feel
like I am in another world, I relax as the
colored threads form an image stitch after
stitch, and the chart becomes real. As the depth
of those colors and the different hues suggest a
three-dimensional picture, it almost looks like
an actual painting. I am really addicted to
cross-stitching, that is the reason why I
decided to create a website dedicated to all of
those who love cross-stitching like me and who
believe in love and faithfulness, some values
that people seem not to believe in anymore.
Come
ho iniziato a crocettare

una chiacchiera e l’altra con la mia amica
Elena
nel lontano 1997 lei con la sua gentile grazia
mi chiese se avevo mai ricamato a punto
croce…la guardai con occhi strabiliati
chiedendomi di cosa stesse parlando, in poche
parole mi spiegò cosa fosse e dove trovavo il
materiale…da quel giorno cominciai a ricamare
da subito i meravigliosi schemi di Lavender
& Lace, e Mirabilia, ancor oggi i miei
schemi preferiti. Qualche anno dopo sono andata
per motivi di famiglia a
vivere per un anno in Usa, precisamente
nel meraviglioso Stato del Colorado (Colorado
Springs), una volta In Colorado tra i pianti che
mi facevo vista la nostalgia che sentivo delle
amiche e delle pizze Italiane, l’amore per il
ricamo a punto croce non diminuiva ma aumentava
sempre +, d'altronde non poteva calare l’amore
per questo meraviglioso hobby visto che in Usa
si trovano i migliori materiali per ricamare, e
tanti tantissimi schemi meravigliosi….una
volta tornata in Italia (Vicenza) la mia gioia
era tanta, ho approfondito la mia tecnica di
punto croce scambiandomi idee e consigli con le
fantastiche amiche ricamatrici Italiane
conosciute in Internet, ho seguito i vari corsi
online e oggi finalmente la mia tecnica è
migliorata e il mio rovescio è pulito.
How
it all started
Back
in 1997, between a nice chat and a laugh, my
friend Elena
gracefully asked me if I had ever cross-stitched…
I looked at her with eyes wide open, wondering
what on earth she was talking about. Then she
briefly explained to me what cross-stitching was
and where to find materials… I started
cross-stitching on that day and used the
wonderful patterns featured by Lavender &
Lace and Mirabilia as a start. To this very day,
those are still my all-time favorite designs. A
few years later, I moved to the United States
with my family for a while, to the awesome state
of Colorado to be exact. I was so homesick back
then that I started cross-stitching even more. I
was missing my girl friends and Italian pizza
very much, but the love for the art of
cross-stitching never faded away. Actually I
kept on expanding it as it was so much easier in
the States to find some of the best embroidering
materials ever and so many more great patterns!
When
I came back to Vicenza to stay, I was so glad to
have returned that I further studied and
perfected my technique, also thanks to the ideas
and advice received from some wonderful Italian
needle workers whom I met in the Internet. I
even pursued some on-line courses and today I
can finally say that my technique has immensely
improved and that the back of my projects looks
clean!
